When I was about 14-years old, we lived in a farmhouse in Alvaton, KY (I am 27 now).
Anyway, there was this old angel statue in our yard and everytime we moved it, someonwhere else in the yard, it would show right back up in its old spot. Shortly after we started to move it, things in the house started happening. Our farmhouse was built in the 1800's. I began hearing laughter on the stairs leading to, what used to be, the attic, but had currently been remodeled into three rooms.
One day, I heard it and I opened the door to the stairway. I saw a boy wearing dark-colored, knee-length pants, white socks and black shoes. He had a white looking shirt. I also saw a girl about the age of ten. The boy, I would say, was about five or six. They were rolling something back and forth to one another. Then, I heard a woman telling them to stop because they were being loud. Next, I saw a dark-haired woman in a long, white dress. She looked at me as if I was trespassing. I quickly felt a cold chill and shut the door. Later, around 8pm, I turned in for the night. Sometime during the night I awoke and there was a brisk chill in the air. In the floor was the same little boy rolling a car across the room. Sitting near my bedroom window was the small girl reading a book.
These children spirits seemed friendly, but the mother's spirit was a different story. On occassion, she would pull my hair. Once, she yelled, "You all better leave my angel alone out there" and pulled the covers off my bed. I tried to explain my experiences to my parents, but my father thought I was overreacting. My mother believed me because she had her own experience with a book flying at her while getting ready the next morning. She told my father and he began to believe something was going on. When he determined this "ghost woman" wanted us gone, we quickly packed our things and left.
A couple of years ago, I returned to the old farmhouse with my husband. That angel statue is still there. The current owners say they still hear her and she warned them not to touch the statue. They still say she will pull off their covers or trip them at times.
Me, I am glad to be away from there.
